Don’t fence me in! Bouncy puppy astonishes owner when he takes a running jump at new 10ft barrier

A cheeky rescue puppy left his owner shocked when he managed to jump to the top of a 10-foot fence she had put up in the garden.

Hank, a 10-month-old rescue puppy, was caught on camera eyeing up the new wooden barrier in his owner’s backyard last Friday in Pickens, South Carolina.

He is seen inspecting the fence closely before running backwards to get a good amount of distance for a run-up.

Hank then looks up towards the top of the barrier before he starts to run toward it.

He leaps into the air and clings on to the fence while using his back legs to scramble up even higher.

Once he is at the top he hangs on to the edge of the fence and seems at a loss as to his next move.

His owner then shouts, ‘Hey!’ and Hank immediately drops straight down from the fence and trots towards his owner.

The owner adds: ‘What the hell dude?’

She said: ‘Will, my fiancé, and I adopted him from the Pickens Humane Society in July 2020.

‘Our older dog, Hammy who is five years old, was getting lonely after we returned to work following the Covid shutdown.

‘We decided it was time to get him a companion. We quickly realized the pair were so happy and playful, we needed to get them a better fence so they could spend more time playing freely outside.

‘The chain-link fence we originally had wasn’t cutting it and we were worried they would get out.

‘So we saved up and get them a new privacy fence so we didn’t have to worry about them escaping or getting hurt.

‘It looks like Hank had other ideas and likes to test his limits.’
